5 Tips for Traveling with Children
Traveling with children does not have to be very stressful if you plan ahead. Here are some tips to help make traveling with kids go a little smoother.
1. The biggest tip is to have snacks. It is amazing how a snack can help avoid a meltdown.
2.When flying with a little one, have a bottle or sippy cup filled with water ready for take off and landing. Drinking from a cup or bottle at these times helps their ears to equalize the pressure more quickly.

Celebrate Summer at the Butterfly House
From butterflies to bugs to picnics and fireflies, the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House is serving up fun for families all summer long. Summer hours begin May 27 and run through September 2 with the Butterfly House open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with additional programming on several summer nights. COME EARLY, STAY LATE - Zoo Weekends!
May 24th - September 2nd
Go wild on the weekends at the Saint Louis Zoo! On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, May 24 through September 2, the Zoo is open extended hours from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. for Prairie Farms Summer Zoo Weekends. Weekday summer hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
On Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, the Zoo is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Zoo will close at 12 noon on Friday, June 21, for ZOOFARI, the Zoo’s biennial fundraiser.

Delta Dental Health Theatre Summer Fun Series
Each Saturday this summer they will feature their "Show", followed by an action-packed activity focused on a different component of healthy living. Tuesday, June 18 - Super Splash Day with the River City Rascals

Friday, June 21 - Laserium, the Original Laser Light Show
The Saint Louis Science Center has brought back Laserium, the original laser light concert, for a limited time at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium. Watch as a master Laserist conducts a symphony of of vibrant laser light set to music. Music selections include well-known classical tunes, classic rock instrumentals from the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and others.

Bring your kids to enjoy a live production of Willy Wonka performed by local kids ages 5-19. The show is produced by Shooting Star Productions, a St. Louis-based nonprofit theater company founded to provide positive theatrical experiences for young performers.
Each year, Shooting Star produces two shows, a Broadway-style musical featuring ages 5-19 in the summer, and a non-musical for school age children in the winter. Performers learn technical aspects of producing a live show, set building and experience on the stage.
