DreamWorks "Spirit Riding Free" Review

Airing on Netflix May 5, 2017

May 5, 2017

My daughter's free, loving, spirit has always been WILD about horses.

She has a horse bedroom and horse toys, equipped with stables. In fact, she is even standing her ground that she will not move to the family farm until the barn is ready for horses.  You can imagine her excitement to find out that Netflix (her absolute favorite account) has a new original series DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free, premiering on Friday, May 5, 2017 and she was even more excited to be able to attend a special screening of the first two episodes of the series.

I loved the Oscar-nominated film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and was thrilled to find out that DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free was inspired by this movie. Spirit Riding Free is about three main characters Lucky, Pru and Abigail. Lucky is an energetic 12-year-old girl who recently moved from the city to the country and is trying to make new friends. She quickly becomes friends with Pru, Abigail and a wild mustang named Spirit.  The three of them and their trusty horses, including Spirit, head off on some great adventures where they truly learn what it means to be free.

Be sure to tune into Netflix to see the series, DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free, on Friday, May 5, 2017. Also, be on the lookout for a line of toys and books that are coming soon.
