Summer is full of adventure, fun, and lots of camps. How do you ever pick the right one for your child? My daughter, Brynnley, had the pleasure to attend Splatter Mania Kids Art Camp the first week of June and LOVED it! I think it was her best camp yet. She always loves to show off her artistic side and this camp fed right into her love for art!
Each day the kids would arrive, put on their paint smock and pick out their pre-drawn 16 x 20 canvas that they wanted to paint for the day. During registration time, the kids selected four design choices from the many options on the Splatter Mania website and for the final day they were able to paint a pre-drawn self portrait of themselves or their pet.
My daughter chose to create a masterpiece for all members of her family. She made an owl for her grandparent’s new home, an eagle with an anchor for her brother’s new apartment, then a bow and arrow with deer skulls for her other brother’s room. Plus, she painted a snowman for our house and her self-portrait of Mocha, our family dog, for her room. This camp is a great way to get a head start on all of those birthday presents or even Christmas presents for family members. A homemade gift from the heart will always be treasured!
In addition to their daily paintings, the kids were able to play many games ranging from statue, mannequin, air ball, and more. They also made other art items, such as a fish out of construction paper, markers, and scissors.
Two of Brynnley’s highlights of the week were spray painting a design on paper with water guns and painting the instructors face.
Brynnley also enjoyed drawing imaginary characters and learning about how to mix paints to create different colors.
Splatter Mania Kids Art Camp runs weekly through the month of June for ages 6 and over. The cost is $150 for the five-day camp running from 8am to 12pm.
